The court ordered new maps with contiguous districts, but also said the maps must not favor one party over another. Following Friday's map submissions, a pair of consultants hired by the Supreme Court will analyze the proposals and issue a report by Feb. 1. The consultants could choose to ignore all of the maps submitted last week and put forward their own plan. The 50-49 Republican majority map was submitted by Law Forward, the Madison-based law firm representing Democratic voters that brought the lawsuit. Republicans have indicated that they plan an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court arguing due process violations, but it's not clear when that would occur.

I will stop the invasion on our southern border and begin largest domestic deportation operation in American history,” he said in Iowa Saturday. “If you empathize with radical Islamic terrorists and extremists, you’re disqualified," Trump says. “Before we defend the borders of foreign countries we must secure the border of our country," he said said. The border has also become a centerpiece of Abbott's agenda and the subject of an escalating fight with the Biden administration over immigration. A Marquette Law School poll of registered voters conducted in late September gave Trump a 24-point advantage over Biden on handling immigration and border security issues — 52% to 28%.

All five give Trump an advantage of 2 to 4 points over Biden among registered or likely voters. Consider the New York Times/Siena College polls released earlier this month from the six closest states Biden won: Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Michigan. A massive 71% of registered voters in those states said Biden was too old to be an effective president. Back in 2020, half that percentage of registered voters (36%) said Biden was too old to be an effective president. The fact that so many voters feel Biden is too old makes sense given that he is the oldest president ever.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Last year, a teenager in a small Michigan town killed himself after an online chat turned to demands that he pay money to keep intimate photos secret. He was one of dozens of people targeted online by two men extradited from Nigeria to face charges, FBI director Christopher Wray said Saturday. The arrests came after the FBI joined with police in Michigan to investigate the death of 17-year-old Jordan DeMay, one thousands of American teenagers targeted in a sharp rise in online “sextortion” cases in recent years. The message is one more indication of the political and security challenges the U.S.-Mexico border has presented for President Joe Biden. The Biden administration this week took two actions seen by many as moving to the right on immigration. The White House counters that migration has surged across the Western Hemisphere due to regional challenges out of the administration's control. So they are on the streets.”Despite his 2020 promises on the border, Biden has long been more moderate on the issue than some in his party. Will Americans toss out President Joe Biden for being too old and see Vice President Kamala Harris as a worse option? "The indictments of Donald Trump have not boosted him in the polls, either for favorability or for his support in the GOP primary. The impact of Biden's age and Vice President Kamala Harris' presence on the ticket has also been misrepresented, pollsters say. The Biden-Harris campaign is sending the vice president to speak at college campuses in the coming months. "I do think that having Vice President Harris is a net plus for the ticket," says youth voting activist Victor Shi, a Biden 2020 delegate.
